The Petroleum Institute of Pakistan (PIP), which represents all segments of the petroleum industry, was established in 1963 to promote and coordinate the activities of the oil and gas sector in Pakistan. Currently the Institute consists of 21 Industrial Collective Members and 81 Private Individual Members and is administered by a Board of Directors elected from the CEOs of its member companies
The objective of the Institute is to engage in activities for promoting the development of the oil and gas sector in Pakistan through policy advocacy, capacity building, research, publications, seminars, workshops, and conferences. The PIP Pakistan Energy Outlook report forecasts the energy demand and supply of the country over a 25-year period, with 5 years intervals highlighting the dynamics of the energy landscape of the country and proposing solutions for its energy issues. The Institute also has long standing links with international bodies, such as the World Petroleum Council (WPC) for the benefit of its members.
